About The Person
Frank Emmrich is a physician and since 2005 Founding Director and Head of the Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology Leipzig. Various professional stations took him from Leipzig via Berlin to Heidelberg, Freiburg / Br. and Erlangen. He worked for the Max Planck Society for 13 years. In 1994 he was appointed Professor of Clinical Immunology at the University of Leipzig, where he headed the institute of clinical Immunology until 2016. He also founded and directed the translational center for regenerative medicine at the university. He was a member of the German Ethics Council.
