AIMS Meeting: A Leading Light from Lisbon
Last week we announced a partnership with a conference in Bucharest, Romania. This week we can announce one right at the other end of Europe: The AIMS Meeting in Lisbon, Portugal. We are very glad to work together with this festival, further ensuring Xpomet’s aim of being a confluence point for medical students across the whole length and breadth of Europe.
AIMS (Annual International [bio]Medical Students) Meeting is the largest student-run conference for BioMedical students in Europe. Organised by 23 students from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon, it runs every March for 3 days. The event, first known as the National Young Medical Students Meeting, was founded in 2009 as a way to bring together medical students together to learn and grow from each other. The event runs tens of lectures, several workshops, a science speed dating program, and clinical, research and scientific competitions. This is also complemented by various fun programs, including food tasting, physical activities, and sightseeing tours. They are a civic minded conference also, running events to raise money for charity, and offering a homestay program so international students can visit for a reasonable price.
Renowned for its open-mindedness and strong sense of collaboration, the AIMS Meeting welcomes up to 750 medical students each year. We are looking forward to working with them, and to welcome them to Xpomet Medicinale 2019. If you would like to take part, or simply want to learn more about AIMS, head on over to their website now. You can also follow them on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. If you are part of an International Medical Congress for students and would also like to connect with Xpomet to boost participation and awareness of your festival, please feel free to get in touch with me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
