About The Person
Erik Jung studied physics and physical technology in medicine at the University of Kaiserslautern. In 1994 he moved to Fraunhofer IZM. He became head of the Advanced Micro System Assembly group in 1998, working on innovative technologies for miniaturized system integration. He also assumed technological responsibility for the implementation of a demonstration production line at the SMT&Hybrid trade fair, which was a strong crowd-puller. From 2007 to 2008 he was delegated to the University of Utah to coordinate joint research cooperations. In 2008, he was named the topic manager of the Medical Technology Business Area and simultaneously headed the Technology Group "Medical Microsystems". Since 2015 he has been responsible for the development of new topics as a business field developer, with a special focus on start-up support. He is a member of the professional associations IEEE, IMAPS, DPG and VDI.
