Boston / Basel / India Summit – A Small yet Powerful Experience
I visited the Boston / Basel / India Summit – Global Excellence in Life Science Entrepreneurship in Basel, Switzerland. It was a meetup which turned out to be quite an event and motivated me to write this article. I have always loved the concept of different ecosystem players coming together, such as Universities, Corporates, Researchers, Innovators, and taking up discussion on topics which are relevant.
As Basel is host to many such innovation players such as the University of Basel, Roche, Novartis & DayOne Accelerator Program and many more important stakeholders, it is quite natural to see the initiative and it is worth complementing the efforts of the organizers. It was totally worth the time spent.
There were powerful words and talks from Nicole Hostettler, Amri Johnson, Deepthi Ravula & Alain Bindels. Also, there were some very interesting comments from the fellow speakers and finally an interesting panel moderated by Douglas Häggström. As Doug also participated at XPOMET Medicinale 2019, I had high expectations from the panel and it stood up to it.
Here are some of my key takeaways from the evening:
– Innovation needs all stakeholders on board
– Need to get out of the traditional mindset
– Healthcare & Tech is merging
– More need for innovative approaches
– Need to shift the mindset
– Partnerships require a stronger will
– Listen to what is required by Patients and by customers
– Diversity, inclusion and gender balance will lead to better outcomes
Once again, compliments for a wonderful and interactive evening.
