Xpomet at EuroSTEMPeers: Forging New Alliances

The annual EuroSTEMPeers took place on the 27th April in Berlin at the Charité CrossOver (CCO) Auditorium. Over 100 experts and STEM Graduates met up to discuss the importance of STEM, diversity, opportunities and collaborations and much much more. It was a great day, forging a new and deeper alliance between the XPOMET© MEDICINALE© community and the global STEM community.

The conference started with registrations at 8 am, with initial remarks given at 9 am by organizing team head Dr. Mayur Vadhvani. Dr. Ananda Ghosh, founder of the STEM Career Support Group, gave the next talk, outlining the wider vision of the STEM community. This was then followed by a keynote talk by the CEO of EIT Health, Jan-Philipp Beck. He explained the opportunities for students and researchers to get involved with EIT-Health.

Other talks at the conference were given by Prof. Craig Garner, co-founder of SPARK Berlin, Bejal Joshi, founder and CEO of International Women in Science, and Dr. Markus Dettenhofer, the executive director of CEITEC and Dr. Chris Armbruster, director of Community, The Drivery. Talks were interspersed with three panel discussions. These conversations covered topics as diverse as science publishing, communication and outreach, Opportunities in Pharma/Biotech and Inclusion and Diversity in STEM.

Between these talks and panel discussions were numerous breaks, including a networking lunch, allowing different members of the community to mingle and discuss further opportunities.

Xpomet were an official partner of EuroSTEMPeers. Our head of conference, Dr. Jubin Shah, chaired the Entrepreneur Session during the conference. Ulrich Pieper, founder of Xpomet, also presented the story of Xpomet and invited the community of the Career Support Group to collaborate & become part of XPOMET. We look forward to seeing the pioneers of the STEMPeers community at the Xpomet Medicinale and hope to form further alliances to drive scientific innovation into the future.
