ICHAMS: A Hub For Medical Students In Ireland
The global Xpomet community is growing. With partnerships already announced with student conferences in Romania and Portugal, we can now announce another one with ICHAMS; all the way from Dublin, Ireland!
Standing for the International Conference for Healthcare and Medical Students, ICHAMS was founded in 2010 by a group of students from the prestigious Royal College of Surgeons. It is proud to call itself Ireland’s first student-led conference, with an organising committee comprised of 22 members.
Their aim is inspire students to pursue their aims in the healthcare field, through both hands-on workshop learning and by partaking in their social programs. Here both undergraduate and graduate healthcare students are given the opportunity to present the findings of their research in an international setting; resulting in structured feedback that allows them to grow in their field. Students are encourages to submit their work to the festival on a variety of medical topics, including surgery, public health, infectious diseases, cardiology, haematology, neurology and psychiatry. All accepted abstracts will also have the opportunity to be published in the journal BMJ Proceedings. If you are a student and interested in this opportunity, you can learn more about the guidelines here.
One can also attend as a passive participant, taking part in a three day conference with keynote sessions, plenary sessions, workshops and more. The dates for 2020 edition run between the 6-8 of February, with abstract submissions open between September 6 to October 14. To learn more about the festival, visit their website now. You can also follow them on social media, including their Instagram page and their Twitter Page. Keep your eyes peeled on both their pages and ours, to see how this partnership will further blossom.
