David Matusiewicz

David Matusiewicz is a Professor of General Business Administration, in particular Health Management, at FOM University - the largest private university in Germany. Since 2015 he has been Dean of the University's Health & Social Affairs department and director of the Research Institute for Health & Social Affairs. In addition, he is a founding partner of the Essen Research Institute for Medical Management (EsFoMed GmbH) and supports start-ups in the healthcare sector as a founder and business angel. Matusiewicz is also a member of various advisory boards and an investor in companies involved in the digital transformation of the healthcare sector. Prior to his professorship, he worked for several years as a research assistant with Prof. Dr. Jürgen Wasem at Alfried Krupp von Bohlen and Halbach-Stiftungslehrstuhl für Medizinmanagement at the University of Duisburg-Essen in the working groups "Health Economic Evaluation and Health Care Research" and "Health System, Health Policy and Drug Control". Until 2017, Matusiewicz also has professional experience in service control in Health Insurance companies (including the company health insurance fund of Thyssen Krupp, among others). Until 2014, he was also Managing Director of Forschungsnahen Beratungsgesellschaft im Gesundheitswesen (ForBiG GmbH) - a spin-off of the Chair of Medical Management.
