About The Person

Ruixuan Gao

Ruixuan Gao is a Postdoctoral Associate in the Synthetic Neurobiology Group at MIT McGovern Institute for Brain Research and Media Lab. His research interest lies at the intersection of materials science and biology with an emphasis on nanoscale imaging and sensing of the brain. Some of his recent works include a new hydrogel chemistry to physically magnify cells and tissues, and an ultrafast fluorescence imaging pipeline to capture the underlying cellular connections and molecular compositions at nanoscopic resolution in the expanded and cleared brain tissues. He is currently working on the next-generation chemistry and microscopy to map proteins and RNAs in the brain using a variety of model organisms. Ruixuan received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University. Ruixuan also contributed to the following work below:
